Internet is the vehicle of social change?
Gone
are the days when people use to agitate in parks, roads, and in front of
government building. Today we are living in internet era, where we got our self
into gadget world like: Laptop, Mobile, PDA’s, iPods etc. All gadgets are
internet connection-less and all have a capability to connect to the outside
world with in a second. Now we can get the access to the rural and villages in
a few seconds. We can look after the condition through the internet and we can
get to know about the latest updates through the internet. In this article we
discuss about the conditions which exists before the internet era which also
affects the social change.
Today's because of the globalization of everything has changed the
standards. Today we got facebook, twitter, and many more social networking
sites which is not only allow us to communicate even they have given the huge
space to express our views at SNS and we can discuss about various social
problem and their solutions.
Just think about that, if don't have the Internet, then what would
happen?
It can be said that, we wouldn't be able to communicate at vast
place. It is normal thought that can easily come in every human mind but only
the question is not about the communication because before the internet era
people were has the other mode of communication and they did. So what would
happen? Let’s talk about the academic era without the Internet. It has been
said that Time has keep on changing and so people are with the time i.e.
lifestyle, Techniques, modernity, and much more things. If there was no space
for internet in academic area then might be some problem occurs like. Some
knowledge is not enough to compete the other in same area and if the concern
data was not available students filled our books with problems and they got no
solutions and if they got the solution then the solution was non practical,
based on economic theory as it was result of a small survey done by few people.
Today we have tremendous technology to use among the people which come in form
of expressing their thoughts get solution of their problem through internet.
It’s also helping us in policy making and help to understand the actual
condition of the social problem.
YES we can say,..... the technology is helping somehow in a
bringing a social change,
Yes society is getting benefit with internet.
In the starting no one thought that internet will become a
powerful tool for communication and for business also. No one thought it will
bring shops and showroom on our computers. No one thought it will bring gamers
at a single platform. Surely how a man can imagine it can be a tool for social
change? Yes it is, yes it is a powerful tool that helping out millions of
millions needy people in the world.
Usually I feel that internet is playing a vital role in bring
social change. Further before discussing about social change we should discuss
about social problems. So what was the social Problem which were affecting to
the people, poor people and the society in negative prospective. In India
Before the internet era we had several problems like:
1. Suppose a man is working in the company and he didn’t have his
salary due to malpractice done by clerical person in finance department so at
that period of time he had very few options to say his problem to the Top level
of the company to fulfill his desire.
Solution: Now a Person has lots of option to give voice their view
or opinion among the people easily because of the internet. The company made
their Website for redressed of complaint or feedback area for getting suggestion
through the internet by the audience. Here we can say that internet has change
the whole process of communication.
2. There was a lack of connectivity between the people during the
period of Pre internet era and because of that they could interacted with very
few people because they hadn’t option to talk to other person. Whomsoever were
living in the limited area i.e. Village, town, kasba. etc. only they could talk
to each other.
Solution: After the emergence of internet in the life of people it
changed the whole outcome of interaction mode. Now we are not in boundaries to
talk to another person. Now we can share our view, opinion, thought, Picture
with emotion and can talk because of Internet.
3. Now a day we are living in the 21st ahead century
and we have lots of thing in term of technology, which help to reach to
person to another person before in pre-internet era people hadn’t that type of
facility or we can say that the gadget which we are using now a days. They only
had Telephone, Radio, Television, Telegraph etc. This thing also interact but
the pace of delivery of the message was to slow or may be was not much
effective.
As i said in my above lines that Internet played and still playing
the vital role in the world. It is still changing the whole process, models and
many more thing which does exist in the world but they could not effective that
much. In world there are so many Countries, Continents, Islands and Sand area
which came in light with the help of internet. Now we knows that which Country is developed, which
country is developing, which type of people live in the world, which kind of
food is taking by the people, which type of people language speaks by the
people in the world. The whole thing has come on one platform\ before that we
had no idea about these things. Now a Person who live in India and he has his
house in United Kingdom can have the information of their house their family
and about their things with in a second.
In India there are so many culture and so many religions which has
their own rituals and living standard but when a person who belong to Northeast
side of India and travel to the Delhi will not have any problem to settle down
in Delhi because of the internet.
